You are signing up for a History and Genealogy Department Visit. The appointment window is for 1hr and 45mins even though the appointment slot appears as 2 hours. The last 15 minutes of the appointment window is used by staff to sanitize and prepare the space for the next set of appointments.

It is advisable to email genealogy@slcl.org  or phone (314-994-3300 ext 5) ahead of your appointment to allow staff to collect material in advance to maximize your 1hr and 45min appointment window.

Please read the following Guidelines which must be followed for the safety of all patrons and staff. Failure to comply with these guidelines and our Code of Conduct will result in the termination of your visit.

Helpful Registration Tips:

• If you do not have a valid phone number, enter ours, 314-994-3300

• If you do not have a valid email address, enter none@slcl.org

• If you have never registered using our events and program software you will get an email to verify your email address. It is important to check your email to respond in a timely manner or the link will no longer be active and you will not receive your appointment confirmation.  

Appointment Guidelines For Visiting The Department

• Appointment windows begin on the hour. No extensions for late arrival or other reasons. 

• Each appointment allows the use of only 1 computer. One appointment per person per day. 

• A patron must be 13-years of age or older to schedule an appointment.

• Library staff are unable to assist with any computer support or provide in-depth research assistance.  

• Printing, scanning, and copying will be available.  Free printing: 60 pages maximum. 

• Files cannot be saved to the computer.  All print jobs must be sent to the printer before the end of your appointment window.

• No food or drinks allowed.

COVID-19 Rules

• Properly worn masks, covering nose and mouth, are required to be worn at all times. 

• Social distancing when entering and exiting, and maintaining 6 feet distance from others is required.

• Hand sanitizer will be available at various locations within the building.
